What customers say

4.4
Across 11,600+ reviews on Google and the MySyara app

Great service done by the team here. Special shout out to Muhammad Shaheer, who gave me solid and legit advice on how to go about with my car and the parts that were to be replaced.

They are very professional, took my car and returned it back on time, they checked all the mechanical aspects of the car and advised on some replacements. Mr. Mohammad Saheer was the adviser, he was so helpful.

Had a good experience with MySyara and their staff overall. Really impressed with Yadhu's attention to detail. They arranged multiple pick and drop at no cost, which was a big relief and convenient.

A minor service is AED 650 and a major service AED 1250, the same as our Dubai workshops with no Abu Dhabi premium. A pre-trip vehicle check is AED 150, wheel alignment AED 200, tyre rotation AED 50, a power transfer unit oil change from AED 375, gearbox fluid with filter from AED 600, a radiator flush AED 225 and spark plugs AED 225.
Because a three-row SUV carrying seven people and luggage travels close to its rated weight, and weight is what the brakes, tyres, cooling and driveline actually work against. The same vehicle driven empty around town and driven full on long trips ages in two different ways. A loaded Explorer brings tyre wear, brake wear and driveline heat forward, so we assess those for how you use it rather than ticking a generic box. Tell us when you book and we will look at the right things first.
Coolant level and condition, oil level and condition, tyre condition including the age of the rubber rather than only tread depth, tyre pressures set for a loaded vehicle, brake measurements, the driveline on an AWD model, belts and hoses, and battery health. It is not a service, it is a judgement on whether the vehicle is fit for a long, loaded drive. A pre-trip check is AED 150, which against the cost of a problem somewhere past Al Shamkha is not a meaningful sum.
Every 5,000 to 10,000 km or 6 months, whichever comes first. On Abu Dhabi distances the kilometres almost always come first. A vehicle covering 2,500 km a month reaches 10,000 km in four months, so working to the calendar will quietly take you past the interval, more so if you load it heavily.
Two things beyond tread depth. The age of the rubber, because heat ages tyres regardless of mileage and a cracked sidewall is a real risk at speed in summer. And the pressures, which should be set for the load you actually carry rather than a light-running default. A heavy SUV on underinflated, aged tyres at 120 in the heat is the combination we most want to catch before a long trip. We report both and set the pressures to Ford's figures for your load.
On all-wheel-drive 2011 to 2019 Explorers, yes. The power transfer unit holds a small amount of fluid, runs hot, and was widely treated as sealed for life, so many were never serviced. Heat and load degrade the fluid, and a long-distance loaded vehicle gives it plenty of both. A change is from AED 375, which is inexpensive against what a neglected unit can lead to. We check it on AWD models as part of the service.
Not yet. Our doorstep mechanic service runs in Dubai only. In Abu Dhabi the work is done at a workshop, reachable from the island, Khalifa City, Mussafah, MBZ, Al Raha and out towards Al Shamkha. Most services are same-day.

A full Explorer is a different vehicle to maintain

The Dubai version of this page leads with the driveline. Here the more useful starting point is weight, because an Abu Dhabi Explorer is often used in a way a city commuter is not: loaded, and driven a long way.

A three-row Explorer carrying seven people and luggage travels close to its rated weight. That matters more than it sounds, because weight, not just distance, is what the brakes, the tyres, the cooling system and the driveline actually work against.

The same vehicle ages in two completely different ways depending on how it is used. Driven empty around town, it is a light-duty life. Driven full, on long runs to Al Ain, Dubai or across the border, it is working near the top of what it was designed for, every trip.

So the sensible thing is to service it for how you actually use it, rather than run a generic checklist and hope the averages work out.

What weight at speed consumes first

Three areas take the load, in a fairly predictable order.

Tyres. A heavy SUV at sustained speed on hot asphalt is the hardest life a tyre has, and on a loaded vehicle the margins are smaller. Two things matter beyond tread depth: the age of the rubber, because heat ages a tyre regardless of mileage, and the pressures, which should be set for the load you carry rather than a light-running default. We report the date code and set the pressures to Ford’s figures for your load.

Brakes. A laden Explorer slowing from 120 does considerably more work than an empty one in traffic, and the pads and discs show it. We measure in millimetres and give you the numbers, not an opinion.

Driveline. The fluids degrade with heat and load rather than with distance, and a loaded long-distance vehicle supplies both. On all-wheel-drive models that includes the power transfer unit, covered below.

The power transfer unit, if yours is all-wheel drive

Worth a section of its own because it is the item most likely to have been forgotten entirely.

On the 2011 to 2019 all-wheel-drive Explorer, the power transfer unit sends drive to the rear wheels through a small unit bolted to the transaxle. It holds only a modest amount of fluid, it runs hot, and for years it was widely treated as sealed for life, so a great many were never serviced.

Heat and load degrade that fluid, and a laden vehicle on long Abu Dhabi runs supplies exactly those. A power transfer unit oil change is from AED 375, which is inexpensive against what a neglected unit can lead to. We check it on all-wheel-drive models rather than assuming the factory fill is fine forever.

The engine and cooling, which the distance actually suits

Here is the reassuring part, and it is worth stating plainly because the load story above sounds like bad news.

Steady motorway driving is gentle on the engine and the cooling system. There is plenty of air moving through the radiator at a constant 120, and far fewer cold starts per kilometre than a city car sees. A high-distance motorway Explorer is frequently in better mechanical health than a low-mileage city one.

We still record the coolant level at every visit, because on the naturally aspirated 3.5 V6 unexplained loss is worth tracking, a point our Ford Edge pages explain in full. But the engine is not where the long Abu Dhabi runs do their damage. The chassis and driveline are.

Distance, not date

The interval is every 5,000 to 10,000 km or 6 months, whichever comes first, and on Abu Dhabi distances the kilometres come first.

At 2,500 km a month you reach 10,000 km in four months. Working to the calendar takes the vehicle past its interval without anything feeling different, and a heavily loaded vehicle reaches the point where a service is genuinely due sooner than a light one.

We use the shorter end of the range here anyway, because 45ยฐC ambient heat asks more of the oil than the temperate-climate figures these intervals were written around.

The pre-trip check

A pre-trip vehicle check is AED 150. It is not a service and we will not pretend it is.

What it covers: coolant level and condition, oil level and condition, tyre condition and age, pressures set for a loaded vehicle, brake measurements, the driveline on an all-wheel-drive model, belts and hoses, and battery health.

What it is for: a judgement on whether the vehicle is fit for a long, loaded drive, and we will tell you plainly if something should be dealt with first.

Against the cost of discovering a problem somewhere past Al Shamkha with a full car, AED 150 is not a meaningful sum. Before a long family trip in summer, it is the most useful item on this page.

What the service covers

AED 650 minor: Mobil fully synthetic oil, a new oil filter, cleaning of the air and cabin filters, all fluids topped up, a multi-point inspection, the coolant level recorded, the tyres and brakes assessed for load, and on all-wheel-drive models the power transfer unit checked.

AED 1250 major, which replaces rather than cleans: air filter, cabin filter, spark plugs and wiper blades.

A wheel alignment is AED 200 and a tyre rotation AED 50, both of which matter more on a loaded long-distance vehicle than owners expect, because uneven wear on an SUV tyre set is expensive to replace.

No doorstep here, and no premium either

Our doorstep mechanic runs in Dubai only. In Abu Dhabi the work is workshop-based: Khalifa City, Mussafah, MBZ, Al Raha and out towards Al Shamkha. Most services are same-day.

What you do not pay is any Abu Dhabi surcharge. Every figure on this page matches our Dubai workshops.

Anything the inspection finds comes with a price. If it is a repair rather than maintenance, it is quoted separately and you decide.
