Because both sit in the same price band in our catalogue. The Terrain is a smaller vehicle, but the service content, oil specification and labour fall into the same bracket, so we charge the same rather than inventing a distinction that does not exist in our pricing.
Mobil fully synthetic engine oil, an oil filter replacement, air and cabin filter cleaning (cleaning rather than replacement at this level), all fluids topped up and a multi-point inspection covering brakes, suspension, battery, belts, tyres and the underbody. The vehicle is usually back the same day with a 6 month service warranty.

In Abu Dhabi the kilometres almost always arrive first: long motorway runs, trips out to Al Ain and inter-emirate commuting accumulate distance quickly. On a heavy vehicle, servicing on the odometer rather than the calendar is the safer habit.
Yes, and it matters more here than in Dubai. Load plus sustained motorway speed is the hardest combination for a large vehicle: the brakes, transmission fluid and cooling system all work harder, and unlike city traffic there is no recovery period. The service price does not change, but what we examine closely does. Say so when you book.
On a high-mileage Abu Dhabi vehicle, yes, it is worth asking about. Fluid condition degrades with heat and load rather than with age, so distance and usage matter more than the service book implies. A change is from AED 400, or AED 600 with a filter, which is inexpensive next to anything involving the gearbox internals. Four-wheel-drive models also have a transfer case, from AED 375.
Not yet. Doorstep visits currently run in Dubai only, so in Abu Dhabi the vehicle comes to a workshop. For a full service that is the correct place regardless, since a vehicle this size needs lifting to drain the oil, change the filter and inspect the underbody, brakes and suspension properly.

There is no small GMC. Every model in the range is an SUV or a pickup, which means a single service price rather than the sedan and SUV split most brands need: AED 650 minor, AED 1250 major, the same as our Dubai workshops.
So a Terrain costs what a Yukon costs. One figure to remember.
The Abu Dhabi mix leans the way you would expect for the emirate: Yukons and Sierras doing real distance, alongside Acadias and Terrains used as family vehicles. What they share is weight and the fact that they are bought to carry things.
Load plus distance is the hard combination
In Dubai, load is the main wear factor on a vehicle like this. In Abu Dhabi you get load and sustained motorway speed, and the combination is harder than either on its own.
City traffic works a heavy vehicle in bursts. Low speeds, then gaps where load drops and the systems recover. An hour on the E11 or the Al Ain road with seven people aboard and luggage in the back is continuous: full load, 45°C ambient air, no recovery period.
That concentrates on four systems, and they are the ones we look at hardest:
Cooling, because a loaded vehicle under sustained load in this heat asks a great deal of a radiator. This is where a system that seems perfectly healthy around Khalifa City can prove marginal out past Al Shamkha. A flush is AED 225 and cheap insurance before summer.
Transmission fluid, because a working gearbox makes heat and heat degrades fluid. A change is from AED 400, or AED 600 with a filter.
Brakes, because stopping a loaded three-row SUV from motorway speed dissipates far more energy than stopping an empty saloon.
Tyres, which carry the weight continuously at speed on hot asphalt.
Service on the odometer, not the calendar
Every 5,000 to 10,000 km or 6 months, whichever comes first, and here the kilometres almost always come first. A vehicle covering 1,500 km a month reaches 10,000 km in seven months, and plenty of Abu Dhabi GMCs do considerably more.
On a heavy vehicle working in this heat that is not a corner worth cutting. Watch the odometer.
Tyres deserve first attention
On any high-mileage Abu Dhabi vehicle tyres matter most, and on a loaded one they matter more again.
Sustained speed on hot asphalt is the hardest life a tyre has. Add the weight of a full Yukon or a laden Sierra and a worn or under-inflated tyre at 120 km/h in July becomes comfortably the most dangerous thing you own, and the cheapest serious risk to remove.
We check condition, pressures and age at every service, and tyre rotation is AED 50 if the wear pattern warrants it.
Brakes get measured, not estimated
We measure pad thickness rather than guessing, and we give you the number rather than just a verdict.
That honesty runs both ways. On a lightly used Terrain the answer is often that there is plenty left. On a Sierra that tows regularly, or a Yukon doing Al Ain runs fully loaded, it is more often that you should not wait. Either way you see the measurement.
Parts are not a problem on these
A practical point in GMC’s favour, and it matters more on a high-mileage vehicle. These share a great deal of engineering with the wider General Motors range, one of the better supported in this market.
So when something does need replacing, sourcing is usually straightforward and the cost sensible. Combined with tier-2 pricing, that makes a used GMC less risky than its size might suggest.
