Ford Explorer repair in Abu Dhabi, diagnosed for AED 99.
On a long summer drive with a full car, the third row is where the air conditioning fails first, and in 45ยฐC that is a safety item rather than a comfort one. We find the cause before quoting the cure. Same rates as Dubai. Diagnosis AED 99.

How it works
From symptom to answer in three steps
Tell us what has failed, we find the cause, you approve before work starts.
Describe what has failed
Rear vents blowing warm, weak airflow, a smell, a noise that rises with speed, a warning light. Tell us whether it is the front, the rear, or both.
We find the cause
For AC that means measuring pressures front and rear rather than topping up blind. For a driveline noise it means tracing it to the unit rather than guessing.
We repair it, you approve
AC, cooling, PTU, gearbox, suspension: whatever the diagnosis points to is done only with your say-so, and we will tell you if it is past economic repair.
Pricing
Explorer repair jobs, priced upfront
The same rates as our Dubai workshops, with no Abu Dhabi premium. Rear AC and water pump work is quoted after inspection, because the scope depends on what we find.
AC & climate
A safety item on a long summer drive.
Cooling system
Cheapest cause checked before the dearest.
Driveline & gearbox
Try the fluid before the hard parts.
Suspension & brakes
What sustained speed consumes.
- AC inspection is AED 99 and we measure pressures front and rear before refilling
- We try gearbox and PTU fluid first where the symptom allows it
- Same rates as Dubai, with no Abu Dhabi surcharge on any job
Rear vents blowing warm before a long trip? Get it looked at before the drive, not after.

What customers say
Great service done by the team here. Special shout out to Muhammad Shaheer, who gave me solid and legit advice on how to go about with my car and the parts that were to be replaced.
Had a good experience with MySyara and their staff overall. Really impressed with Yadhu's attention to detail. They arranged multiple pick and drop at no cost, which was a big relief and convenient.

The third row is where the air conditioning fails first
In a saloon, a weak air conditioner is one complaint from one row of seats. In a three-row Explorer on a long Abu Dhabi summer drive, it is a different problem, because the people who feel it first are sitting at the back, and the driver, cooled by the front system, may not notice for weeks.
That is the quirk worth understanding. On an Explorer with rear climate control, cooled air has to travel through long refrigerant lines to a rear evaporator and blower at the back of the cabin. That rear circuit is the part of the system most exposed to heat and the first place a weak charge or a tired component shows up.
So a rear that blows warm while the front still feels fine is not a minor niggle. It is a genuine early warning that the system is losing its margin, and on a full car in 45ยฐC it is the row with the children and the grandparents that pays for it.
On a long drive here, AC is a safety item
We say this plainly because it changes how you should prioritise it.
A cabin at 45ยฐC becomes genuinely unpleasant within minutes and unsafe across a long drive, more so with young children or elderly passengers in the back. Driving the Al Ain road with the windows down in August is not a practical alternative, and a struggling rear system in a full car is precisely the situation where that matters.
So we rate air conditioning as urgent before a trip rather than a comfort job you can leave for the next service. If the rear vents are blowing warm and you have a long drive coming, deal with it before the drive, not after.
What we check, and why we do not just top it up
The cheap, tempting move on a weak AC is to add gas and send you on your way. We do not do that, because a system that is low on refrigerant has a leak, and topping it up simply hides the leak for a few weeks before you are back where you started, usually at a worse time.
An AC inspection is AED 99, and it starts with measuring the pressures front and rear rather than guessing. That tells us whether the charge is low, whether a component has failed, and crucially whether the rear circuit is the weak point.
From there:
A top-up is AED 150, but only where the system genuinely holds pressure.
A condenser is from AED 750 and a compressor from AED 1150, where a component has actually failed.
Rear evaporator and rear line work is quoted after inspection, because access to the back of the system varies with the vehicle.
Cold air but weak airflow is a different fault entirely: a blower motor at AED 450 or a cabin filter choked with dust, neither of which is a refrigerant problem.
The rear circuit on its own
Worth separating, because this is the Explorer-specific part.
When the rear blows warm while the front cools, the fault is usually on the rear side of the system: the rear expansion valve, the rear evaporator, the rear blower, or a charge that has dropped far enough to leave the longest lines short while the front still has enough to work with.
We check the rear circuit on its own rather than declaring the whole system healthy because the driver is comfortable. On a vehicle bought for carrying people, the row that cannot be felt from the driver’s seat is exactly the one worth testing.
The driveline whine, which the distance brings out
A different complaint, and a common one on long Abu Dhabi runs: a whine that rises with road speed rather than with engine revs.
That points at the driveline, and on an all-wheel-drive Explorer the power transfer unit and the rear drive are the usual suspects. The PTU holds a small amount of fluid, runs hot, and was widely treated as sealed for life, so many were never serviced. On sustained high-speed driving the fluid takes plenty of heat.
A power transfer unit oil change is from AED 375, and on a developing whine it is worth ruling in or out before anyone discusses a unit replacement. Our service page explains why we treat it as a serviceable item.
The water pump, if yours is the 3.5 V6
The one failure on this vehicle that is time-sensitive rather than merely expensive, and the one where distance out here makes the wrong decision costly.
On the naturally aspirated 3.5 V6, the water pump sits behind the front timing cover, driven by the timing chain. Failed seals can route coolant toward the engine oil, turning it a milky brown.
If yours looks like that: do not attempt a long drive home. Call us. That is the point where a pump job becomes an engine, and out past Al Shamkha the distance you will cover before accepting you have to stop is exactly what does the damage. Our Ford Edge repair pages cover this failure in full.
The EcoBoost and hybrid engines have different cooling layouts, so tell us which engine you have.
What sustained speed consumes
Not the engine or the cooling system, which steady cruising actually suits. What the long runs consume is the chassis.
Tyres, where the age of the rubber matters as much as the tread, and sustained speed on hot asphalt is the hardest life a tyre has.
Brakes, measured in millimetres and reported as numbers, because a heavy three-row SUV stopping from motorway speed does far more work than one in traffic.
Shock absorbers, from AED 725 rear and AED 925 front, working continuously rather than intermittently.
Alignment at AED 200, which produces almost no symptom at constant speed on a straight road while quietly destroying one edge of a tyre.
No premium, and no doorstep
Every figure on this page matches our Dubai workshops. There is no Abu Dhabi surcharge on any job.
The doorstep mechanic runs in Dubai only, so AC, cooling, PTU, gearbox and suspension work is workshop-based here: Khalifa City, Mussafah, MBZ, Al Raha and out towards Al Shamkha.
If what you need is routine servicing rather than a repair, that is AED 650 minor and AED 1250 major, and worth reading for the pre-trip check before a long drive.
