How it works
Serviced and back, same day
Book a slot, drop the car at an Abu Dhabi workshop, collect it the same day in most cases.
Pick minor or major
A minor service suits most cars every 5,000 to 10,000 km or 6 months. A major service is due roughly every 30,000 to 40,000 km and adds filters, spark plugs and wipers. Not sure which? Tell us the mileage and the date of the last one.
Drop the car in
Pick a workshop reachable from your area, whether that is Khalifa City, Mussafah, MBZ or the island. The service is fixed-price, so the figure does not move unless the inspection finds something and you approve it.
Inspected, serviced, returned
Oil and filter done, fluids topped up, and a multi-point inspection that tells you what is coming next rather than only what is wrong now. Anything found is quoted, never assumed.
Pricing
Nissan service prices in Abu Dhabi
The same rates as our Dubai workshops, with no Abu Dhabi premium. Nissan sits in our lowest price tier, so these are the cheapest service rates we charge on any make. A Patrol, X-Trail, Pathfinder or Armada prices as an SUV; an Altima, Sunny, Sentra or Tiida as a sedan.
Minor service
Every 5,000 to 10,000 km or 6 months, whichever comes first
Major service
Every 30,000 to 40,000 km or 2 years. Adds filters, plugs and wipers

Common extras, priced the same whether sedan or SUV
- Mobil fully synthetic oil and a new oil filter on every service, minor or major
- 6 month service warranty on the work, as standard
- No Abu Dhabi surcharge: the same figures as our Dubai workshops
A multi-point inspection comes with every service, so you find out what is coming before it strands you.

Coverage
Nissan servicing across Abu Dhabi
Reachable from the island, Khalifa City, Mussafah, MBZ, Al Raha and out towards Al Shamkha. Book a slot, drop the car, collect it the same day in most cases.
Doorstep visits are Dubai-only for now, so in Abu Dhabi the car comes to a workshop. For a full service that is the right place anyway: the car needs lifting for the oil, filters and underbody inspection.

The CVT is the whole Nissan conversation
Most Nissans sold here drive through a continuously variable transmission rather than a conventional automatic: Altima, X-Trail, Sentra, Tiida, Kicks and Qashqai among them. It is the component that most determines whether a Nissan reaches high mileage cheaply or expensively, and in Abu Dhabi it faces the hardest version of its job.
The reason sits in the fluid. A CVT transmits drive through a steel belt running between two variable-width pulleys, and the fluid does more than lubricate: it carries the friction properties the belt depends on to grip. Nissan specifies NS-3 fluid for most modern applications, and it is not interchangeable with ordinary automatic transmission fluid. Using the wrong specification is a genuine way to damage one of these.
As the fluid degrades, the symptoms arrive in a recognisable order. A faint shudder pulling away from a standstill. Then hesitation under light acceleration. On many cars a stored fault code, with owners widely reporting P17F0 as the judder marker. Only after that does the damage become mechanical, in the form of belt slip and wear inside the valve body.
The arithmetic is what matters. A gearbox fluid change at the shudder stage is from AED 250 on a Nissan. Once the wear is mechanical rather than chemical, you are in a different category of repair entirely. Few components reward early attention this heavily.
Why a fluid service is not a top-up
Worth knowing, because it is where corner-cutting tends to happen on these.
A CVT does not surrender all of its fluid in a single drain. A meaningful proportion stays in the torque converter and the cooler circuit, which is why a proper fluid service on one of these is a different piece of work from draining and refilling once. Independent specialists frequently describe the thorough version as a repeated drain, refill and circulate cycle, specifically to bring the proportion of old fluid genuinely low.
When we quote a CVT fluid change we tell you what it involves on your particular car and what condition the fluid is actually in, rather than treating every one the same.
Heat, and the fail-safe nobody expects
This is where Abu Dhabi differs from Dubai in a way that matters specifically to a CVT.
Dubai traffic heats a transmission in bursts, with gaps where load drops and it recovers. An hour at motorway pace on the E11 or the Al Ain road holds it at temperature continuously, under load, in 45ยฐC ambient air. Owners of CVT Nissans report that on long summer runs a struggling unit can drop into a fail-safe mode, cutting power to protect itself, which is alarming on a fast road and is the transmission telling you the fluid situation has gone past the cheap stage.
Complaint databases record the highest CVT complaint volumes on Altimas from roughly 2007 to 2016, so if yours sits in that window and covers Abu Dhabi distances, fluid condition is the single item worth staying ahead of. On a high-mileage example some owners fit an auxiliary transmission cooler; whether that is worthwhile depends on how you actually use the car, and we will give you a straight answer rather than a sales pitch.
Service on the odometer, not the calendar
Intervals are written as distance or time, whichever comes first, and here it is almost always the distance. A car covering 1,500 km a month passes 10,000 km in seven months, and plenty in this emirate do considerably more.
A minor service every 5,000 to 10,000 km covers Mobil fully synthetic oil, a new oil filter, cleaning of the air and cabin filters, all fluids topped up and a multi-point inspection including CVT fluid condition. A major service, typically every third, replaces rather than cleans: air filter, cabin filter, spark plugs and wiper blades. Given the mileage these cars cover, the major usually arrives on kilometres well before it arrives on years.
Sustained high-speed running also pushes far more air, and therefore far more fine dust, through the air filter than city driving does. That is the quiet reason the interval matters here.
The Patrol is a different brief
The Patrol is the Nissan we see most in Abu Dhabi, and it has nothing to do with CVTs. It uses a conventional automatic and a body-on-frame layout, so the attention goes elsewhere.
Two things in particular. The rear air conditioning circuit, because a Patrol cools a very large cabin through a second evaporator that can weep or underperform while the front vents stay cold. And the cooling system, because a condenser packed with fine dust cannot shed heat, which is how a healthy system becomes marginal on a long summer run to Al Ain.
If the Patrol sees sand, the air filter is a shorter-interval item than any schedule assumes.
What else the inspection turns up
Batteries rarely see a third UAE summer, so a battery test at service time is worth more here than in most climates, and it is the failure that most often strands people. Tyres matter more than on a Dubai car, because sustained speed on hot asphalt is the hardest life a tyre has. Coolant condition gets checked every visit rather than every third.
Anything found is quoted for your approval, and if it is a repair rather than maintenance it is priced separately.
