Yes, and it is worth mentioning when you book. Sand gets into the air filter far faster than any standard interval assumes, packs into radiator and condenser fins so the vehicle cannot shed heat properly, and works its way into underbody components and suspension bushes. None of that is dramatic in isolation, but it is why a Jeep used off-road should be inspected on a different basis than one that only sees Sheikh Zayed Road. The checks change, the service price does not.

Every Jeep is a four-wheel drive, and that changes the service
Most brands we handle sell a mix of saloons, hatchbacks and SUVs. Jeep does not. Every model in the range, from a Renegade to a Wrangler, is a four-wheel drive, and every one of them prices as an SUV: AED 650 minor, AED 1250 major.
The useful consequence is that there is only one figure to remember. The more important consequence is mechanical. A four-wheel drive carries hardware a saloon simply does not have: a transfer case with its own oil, front and rear differentials, and a drivetrain built to be loaded in ways a road car never experiences.
Those items are part of our inspection rather than an upsell. A transfer case oil change is from AED 375, which is inexpensive, quick, and dependably the first thing to fall off a maintenance schedule once a vehicle leaves the dealer network.
The Wrangler is the Jeep we see most
By a clear margin, and that tells you something about how these vehicles are used here. The Wrangler is the most genuinely off-roaded vehicle in our entire workload. People in Dubai buy them to use them.
That is a good thing and it has consequences. Solid axles, a body-on-frame construction and real suspension articulation mean the bushes, joints and underbody components work harder than on any crossover. Removable roof and door panels mean seals and fixings get disturbed in ways no sealed monocoque ever does.
So on a Wrangler we look underneath properly rather than glancing. It is the part of the vehicle doing the most work.
What sand actually does
If the Jeep has been in the dunes since its last service, tell us when you book. Three things change.
The air filter loads with fine sand far faster than any temperate-climate interval allows for. It is cleaned at every minor service and replaced at every major, but on a desert-used Jeep it is worth treating as a shorter-interval item regardless of the odometer.
The radiator and condenser fins pack with sand, and a radiator that cannot shed heat is how a healthy cooling system quietly becomes a marginal one. A flush is AED 225 and worth doing before summer.
The underbody and suspension bushes collect sand that works into places it should not be. This is not dramatic in isolation, but it is why a desert-used Jeep should be inspected on a different basis than a school-run crossover.
The checks change. The service price does not.
Grand Cherokee: the other kind of Jeep
The Grand Cherokee is our second most-serviced Jeep and a very different proposition from a Wrangler. More road-biased, considerably more comfortable, and on higher trims fitted with air suspension.
If yours has air suspension, we check ride height and system behaviour at every service but we do not publish a price for it. A fault can be a sensor, a valve, an air spring or the compressor, and those are four very different bills. Any single figure would mislead most owners, so we inspect and then quote the actual fault.
Minor or major: which one is due
A minor service is the routine one, every 5,000 to 10,000 km or 6 months, covering Mobil fully synthetic oil, a new oil filter, cleaning of the air and cabin filters, all fluids topped up and the full inspection including the four-wheel-drive hardware.
A major service is typically every third service, around 30,000 to 40,000 km or every two years, replacing rather than cleaning: air filter, cabin filter, spark plugs and wiper blades.
Anything the inspection flags is reported with a price, and if it is a repair rather than maintenance it is quoted separately.
