From symptom to fix in three steps

Tell us what it is doing, we find out why, you approve the quote before work starts.

01

Book a diagnostic

Book on the app or the website. Tell us the model, what you have noticed, and whether the Jeep goes off-road. If it is a steering or vibration complaint, mention the speed it happens at.

02

We scan and inspect

A technician reads the stored fault codes and, for a steering or suspension complaint, checks the front end under load rather than by eye. Then we send a quote for the actual worn component.

The common repairs are fixed-price and every Jeep prices as an SUV, so there is one rate across the range. Sway bar end links are AED 250, rear shock absorbers from AED 725, front from AED 925, and a front lower control arm AED 1075. A radiator flush is AED 225, a thermostat AED 450 and a radiator AED 1125. An AC condenser is from AED 750, a transfer case oil change from AED 375 and gearbox fluid from AED 400. A diagnosis is AED 99.
That is the classic Wrangler complaint and it is almost always a worn front-end component rather than anything exotic. A Wrangler uses solid axles and a linkage-based steering setup, and once any joint in that chain develops play the whole assembly can set up a self-sustaining shake, usually at a particular speed and often triggered by a bump. The cause can be as cheap as sway bar end links at AED 250 or run up to a control arm at AED 1075. We check the front end under load rather than by eye, because play that is invisible when parked shows up clearly when the suspension is loaded.
Because it is a resonance. Once there is play in the steering or suspension linkage, the front axle can oscillate at the frequency that matches a particular road speed, and the oscillation feeds itself until you slow down. It is not dangerous in the sense of imminent failure, but it does mean a worn joint has been worn for a while. It will not improve on its own, and a loose front end is worth sorting properly.
It accelerates them. Real suspension articulation and soft-sand driving load bushes, joints and the underbody in ways a crossover never experiences, and fine sand works into places it should not be. That is not a reason to stop using the Jeep as intended, it is a reason to inspect it on a different basis than a school-run SUV. Tell us the vehicle goes off-road when you book.
Treat it as urgent and stop driving. The common cause here is specific: sand packed into the radiator and condenser fins so the system cannot shed heat properly. That turns a healthy cooling system into a marginal one, and the failure then arrives on a hot motorway run rather than in the dunes. A flush is AED 225 and a thermostat AED 450, both far cheaper than an engine run hot repeatedly.
That depends on which of four things is wrong, which is why we do not publish a figure. On air-suspended trims it can be a height sensor, a valve, an air spring or the compressor, and those are very different bills. The compressor is the dearest and is usually the consequence of a smaller leak left unaddressed, so early diagnosis genuinely saves money. The AED 99 diagnosis includes a ride height check, then we quote the actual fault.

Diagnosis first. Quote before any repair. Work only with your say-so.

The steering shake, and why it is not a mystery

The single most common repair complaint we get on a Wrangler is a shake or shimmy through the steering, usually at one particular speed and often set off by a bump or a joint in the road.

It has a reputation for being mysterious. It is not. It is a resonance, and resonances need two things: play somewhere in the system, and a speed that matches the frequency.

A Wrangler uses solid axles and a linkage-based steering setup, which is exactly what makes it capable off-road. The trade-off is that there are more joints in the chain than on a car with independent suspension and a rack mounted to the body. Once any one of those joints develops play, the front axle can start to oscillate, and the oscillation feeds itself until you slow down.

So the diagnosis is not “what is this strange phenomenon”. It is “which joint has play”. That is a methodical check rather than guesswork, and the answer ranges from sway bar end links at AED 250 to a control arm at AED 1075.

Why it has to be checked under load

Here is the part that matters, and the reason a proper inspection is worth the AED 99.

Play in a suspension or steering joint frequently does not show when the vehicle is parked with its weight on the wheels. Everything looks sound. Put the suspension under load, or unload it on a lift and work the joint, and the movement becomes obvious.

An inspection done by eye in a car park will often find nothing on a Jeep that shakes badly at 90 km/h. This is why we lift it and check the front end properly, component by component, rather than starting from the cheapest part and working up by replacement.

It also means the honest answer is sometimes reassuring. Not every shimmy is an expensive repair, and a few turn out to be tyre balance or a bent wheel from a kerb.

Off-road use accelerates all of it

None of this is a design flaw, and it is not an argument against using the Jeep as intended. It is the consequence of genuine capability.

Real suspension articulation works bushes and joints through a far greater range than a crossover ever sees. Soft-sand driving loads the drivetrain continuously. Fine sand works its way into seals and pivots. Removable roof and door panels on a Wrangler mean fixings and seals get disturbed in ways a sealed monocoque never does.

So a desert-used Jeep needs inspecting on a different basis than a school-run SUV, and we would rather know which one yours is. Tell us when you book.

Cooling: the sand problem, not the heat problem

Jeeps come in overheating here for a reason that is specific rather than general. Sand packs into the radiator and condenser fins, and a radiator that cannot shed heat turns a perfectly healthy cooling system into a marginal one.

The failure then arrives somewhere inconvenient. Not in the dunes, where speeds are low and you are paying attention, but on a hot motorway run afterwards when the system is asked to work hardest.

A flush is AED 225 and a thermostat AED 450. An engine run hot repeatedly is in a different category. On a Jeep that sees sand, a pre-summer flush is among the most sensible AED 225 you can spend.

Grand Cherokee air suspension

On higher-trim Grand Cherokees there is air suspension, and if yours is sitting low or riding oddly we will not quote a figure before looking.

The cause can be a height sensor, a valve, an air spring or the compressor. The compressor is the dearest and is typically the consequence of a smaller leak left unaddressed, because it is built to top the system up occasionally rather than hold the vehicle up continuously. One published price would mislead most owners, so the diagnosis includes a ride height check and then we quote the real fault.

If what you need turns out to be routine servicing rather than a repair, that is fixed at AED 650 minor and AED 1250 major.
