Less than people expect from the badge. Lexus prices in tier 2 in our catalogue, a full band below Mercedes, BMW and Audi. A Lexus minor service is AED 525 where those brands are AED 625, and the gap widens on repairs: an AC compressor is AED 1025 against AED 1650, a radiator AED 1125 against AED 1850, and front shock absorbers AED 800 against AED 1450.
Mobil fully synthetic engine oil, an oil filter replacement, air and cabin filter cleaning (cleaning rather than replacement at this level), all fluids topped up and a multi-point inspection covering brakes, suspension, battery, belts and tyres. The car is usually back the same day and the work carries a 6 month service warranty.

Tell us when you book, because it changes what we check first. The LX and GX share their underpinnings with the Land Cruiser and Prado, so they are genuinely capable, but sand is hard on air filters, radiator fins and the underbody. The transfer case oil, from AED 325, matters considerably more on a vehicle that does low-range work than on a road-only SUV.
It is inspected as part of the service, but it is not priced on this page. Air and adaptive suspension faults vary enormously depending on whether the problem is a sensor, a valve, an air spring or the compressor, so publishing a single figure would mislead most owners. We check ride height and system behaviour, then quote the actual fault if there is one.
Not yet. Doorstep visits currently run in Dubai only, so in Abu Dhabi the car comes to a workshop. For a full service that is the correct place regardless, since the car needs lifting to drain the oil, change the filter and inspect the underbody, brakes and suspension properly.

In Abu Dhabi the Lexus mix shifts to the big SUVs
The emirate runs proportionally more LX and GX than Dubai does, and that changes what a service visit should concentrate on. These are not crossovers. The LX shares its underpinnings with the Toyota Land Cruiser and the GX with the Prado, which means genuine body-on-frame capability under the leather.
Owners use that capability. Dune trips, graded tracks out past Al Shamkha, long hauls on the E11 and the Al Ain road.
So the oil and filters are the routine part. The attention belongs on the cooling system, the transmission fluid, the transfer case and the air filter, because those are what desert use and distance actually consume.
Service on the odometer, not the calendar
The guidance is every 5,000 to 10,000 km or 6 months, whichever comes first, and here the kilometres almost always come first. A vehicle covering 1,500 km a month reaches 10,000 km in seven months, and plenty do considerably more.
Watch the odometer. On a heavy SUV covering motorway distances in this heat, it is the more honest trigger than the date.
Premium badge, mid-tier bills
Worth stating because it surprises people: Lexus prices in tier 2 in our catalogue, the same band as Volkswagen, Ford and Chevrolet, and a full tier below Mercedes, BMW and Audi.
A minor service is AED 525 where the German luxury brands are AED 625. An AC compressor is AED 1025 against AED 1650. A radiator is AED 1125 against AED 1850. Front shock absorbers are AED 800 against AED 1450.
Same segment, materially lower cost of ownership, and it holds up long after the dealer warranty has expired.
The engine is rarely the thing
A Lexus is a Toyota underneath, built by the most conservative engineering culture in the industry. The powertrain is not usually what brings these cars in.
What needs attention is the hardware that makes it a Lexus rather than a Toyota: adaptive or air suspension on the LS, LX and GX, multi-zone climate control, electric adjustment, and sensors a Land Cruiser does not carry.
Air and adaptive suspension we inspect but deliberately do not price. A fault can be a sensor, a valve, an air spring or the compressor, and those are four very different bills. Publishing one figure would mislead most owners, so we check ride height and behaviour, then quote what is actually wrong.
Sand, and the three things it attacks
On a vehicle that sees the desert, three items deserve more attention than the service book suggests.
The air filter, because fine sand loads it far faster than any temperate-climate interval assumes. It is cleaned at every minor service and replaced at every major.
The radiator, because sand packs into the fins and a radiator that cannot shed heat is how a cooling system becomes marginal. A flush is AED 225 and worth doing before summer.
The transfer case, from AED 325, because low-range work is real work and the oil in there is doing a job. It is also reliably the first item to fall off a maintenance schedule once a vehicle leaves the dealer network.
Transmission fluid on a heavy vehicle
A gearbox fluid change is from AED 350, or AED 525 with a filter. On an LX or GX covering Abu Dhabi distances, fluid condition degrades with heat and load rather than with years, so mileage is the better guide than the calendar.
It is inexpensive next to anything involving gearbox internals, which makes it among the most sensible things you can spend money on for a high-mileage example.
Anything the inspection flags is reported with a price, and if it is a repair rather than maintenance it is quoted separately.
