How it works
Serviced and back, same day
Book a slot, drop the car at an Abu Dhabi workshop, collect it the same day in most cases.
Pick minor or major
A minor service suits most cars every 5,000 to 10,000 km or 6 months. A major service is due roughly every 30,000 to 40,000 km and adds filters, spark plugs and wipers. Tell us the mileage and the date of the last one.
Drop the car in
Pick a workshop reachable from your area, whether that is Khalifa City, Mussafah, MBZ or the island. The service is fixed-price, so the figure does not move unless the inspection finds something and you approve it.
Inspected, serviced, returned
Oil and filter done, fluids topped up, and a multi-point inspection. On an Abu Dhabi Honda the oil interval and, on CVT models, the gearbox fluid both get a close look, because long runs are harder on both than city driving.

“Cool but not cold” is three different faults
The complaint we get most on a Honda in Abu Dhabi is air conditioning that blows cool rather than cold. It has three common causes, they feel identical from the driver’s seat, and only one of them is fixed by refrigerant.
A blend door actuator. Inside the dashboard a small motor positions a flap that decides how much air passes through the chilled evaporator. When the actuator fails or loses calibration, the flap sits part-way and blends warm air into the cold, so the system is working perfectly and the vents still feel tepid. The giveaway is a faint clicking or ticking from behind the dashboard, usually strongest just after you start the car or change the temperature. No amount of gas will fix this, because gas was never the problem.
A compressor clutch that is not engaging. The compressor only runs when an electromagnetic clutch pulls it in, and that depends on a relay, the wiring and a pressure switch. Owner reports concentrate clutch-relay failures on 2008 to 2012 Accords in particular. The system holds pressure, the gas is fine, and the compressor simply is not being switched on. This is one of the cheaper outcomes, which is precisely why it is worth finding before anyone quotes you a compressor.
A genuine leak or a worn compressor. The expensive end. A condenser is from AED 475 and a compressor from AED 750 on a Honda.
An AC inspection is AED 99 and establishes which of the three you have. A gas top-up is AED 150, and we will not sell you one if the pressures tell us it would achieve nothing.
Why the condenser takes a beating here
The condenser sits at the very front of the car, ahead of the radiator, directly in the path of everything the road throws up. On Honda sedans it is relatively low and exposed.
Two consequences in this region. Fine dust packs into the fin matrix and the condenser loses the ability to shed heat, so the system runs but the air is not cold, which is a third way to produce the same symptom as above. And debris strikes on a road like the E11 can damage the core outright, which is a leak rather than a blockage.
Both are visible on inspection, which is why we look at it rather than inferring it from a pressure reading. A dust-packed condenser can often be cleaned. A punctured one cannot.
Honda engines are tight, and the oil specification matters
Honda’s engineering culture runs to higher compression, tighter tolerances and higher operating revs than most of its rivals, which is a large part of why they feel the way they do.
The practical consequence for an owner here is that oil specification is not a detail. A tightly built engine turning higher revs in 45ยฐC ambient air has less margin than a lazy large-capacity one, and the oil is what protects that margin. We use Mobil fully synthetic to the correct specification on every service, minor or major, and we would not economise on it on this brand in particular.
A minor service is AED 350 for a Civic, Accord or City and AED 425 for a CR-V, HR-V or Pilot. A major, typically every third service, is AED 775 and AED 900 and replaces air filter, cabin filter, spark plugs and wiper blades rather than cleaning them.
Service on the odometer, not the calendar
Intervals are written as distance or time, whichever comes first, and in Abu Dhabi it is almost always the distance. Long runs on the E11 and the Al Ain road, commuting between the island and Mussafah or MBZ.
A car covering 1,500 km a month passes 10,000 km in seven months, and plenty here do considerably more. Sustained high-speed running also pushes far more air, and therefore far more fine dust, through the air filter than city driving does, which on a high-revving engine is worth staying ahead of.
The cabin filter is not a cosmetic item
Worth separating out on a Honda, because it connects to the AC complaint above.
A cabin filter clogged with fine dust restricts airflow through the evaporator. The air that does get through is properly cold, but there is not enough of it, so the cabin never cools down and the symptom once again presents as weak air conditioning.
It is cleaned at every minor service and replaced at every major, and as a standalone job it is AED 75. That makes it the cheapest possible answer to a weak-AC complaint, and it is the first thing we check rather than the last.
What else the inspection turns up
Batteries rarely see a third UAE summer and are the failure that most often strands people, so a battery test at service time is worth more here than in most climates. Tyres get checked for condition, pressure and age, because sustained speed on hot asphalt is the hardest life a tyre has. Coolant condition every visit, and a radiator flush is AED 225 if it is due.
Anything found is quoted for your approval, and if it is a repair rather than maintenance it is priced separately.
