How it works

From symptom to fix in three steps

Tell us what it is doing, we find out why, you approve the quote before work starts.

01

Book a diagnostic

Book on the app or the website and pick an Abu Dhabi workshop. Tell us the model and the mileage, and if it is an AC complaint say whether the problem is the whole cabin or just the rear.

02

We scan and quote

A technician reads the stored fault codes and inspects the relevant systems, then sends a quote for your specific Chevrolet. The figure is for your car and your fault, not a generic labour rate.

The same as our Dubai workshops, with no Abu Dhabi premium. A radiator flush is AED 225, a thermostat AED 450 and a radiator replacement AED 1125. An AC condenser starts at AED 650 and a compressor at AED 1025, with a blower motor at AED 450. Gearbox fluid starts at AED 350, or AED 525 with a filter, and a transfer case oil change from AED 325. Those are sedan rates; a Tahoe, Traverse or Silverado is usually AED 50 to 125 more. A diagnosis is AED 99.
Urgent, and stop driving. Sustained motorway load in summer is exactly when a marginal cooling system gives up, and on a heavy vehicle with a large engine the heat load is considerable. It also tends to happen a long way from any workshop. The cheap outcomes are a flush at AED 225 or a thermostat at AED 450. An engine run hot repeatedly costs many times either, so have it recovered rather than pressing on.
Because the stress is continuous rather than intermittent. City traffic heats a cooling system in bursts, with gaps to recover. An hour at motorway speed on the E11 or the Al Ain road asks it to shed heat without a break, and a system that copes perfectly well around town can be marginal under that load. A pre-summer flush at AED 225 is cheap insurance.
Because the rear cabin has its own circuit, usually a second evaporator with its own blower, and that circuit can fail while the front works perfectly. Topping up the refrigerant will not fix a seized rear blower or a blocked rear expansion valve. We diagnose the two circuits separately, which is why we ask whether the problem is the whole cabin or just the back.
On a high-mileage Abu Dhabi vehicle, yes, it is worth asking about. A heavy vehicle covering these distances works its transmission hard, and fluid condition degrades with heat and load rather than with age. A change is from AED 350, or AED 525 with a filter, which is inexpensive next to anything involving gearbox internals. Four-wheel-drive models also have a transfer case, from AED 325.
No. The Camaro prices a tier above the rest of the Chevrolet range because its parts cost more, so we quote it individually rather than publishing a single figure. Tell us the model and engine when you book and we will confirm the price upfront.
We work with vetted workshops across the emirate, reachable from Khalifa City, Mussafah, Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Al Reem Island, Yas Island, Saadiyat, Al Raha and Al Shamkha. Tell us the area when you book and we route you to the nearest one with an open slot.

Heavy vehicles, long distances, and what gives way first

Abu Dhabi runs the larger end of the Chevrolet range. Tahoes, Silverados, Traverses and TrailBlazers, covering real distance on the E11, the E10 and the Al Ain road.

That combination finds two things before anything else: the cooling system and the transmission fluid. Both are cheap to look after and expensive to ignore, and both give warning before they fail outright.

Why the motorway is harder than the traffic

Worth drawing the distinction, because it runs counter to intuition. Most people assume stop-start traffic is the hardest thing for a cooling system. It is certainly hot, but it comes in bursts, with gaps where airflow and lower load let the system recover.

An hour at motorway speed in July is different. The engine is under continuous load, the ambient air is 45ยฐC, and there is no recovery period. A cooling system that behaves perfectly around Khalifa City can turn out to be marginal on the Al Ain road, and that is precisely where you least want to discover it.

A radiator flush is AED 225. A thermostat is AED 450. A radiator is AED 1125. An engine that has been run hot repeatedly costs many times any of those. A flush before summer is among the cheapest sensible things you can do to a high-mileage Chevrolet here.

And if the gauge does climb: stop, and have it recovered. The last 60 km is never worth an engine.

Transmission fluid is the other cheap lever

On a Tahoe, Traverse or Silverado the gearbox does genuine work: a heavy vehicle, a large engine, sustained speed, high ambient temperature. Fluid condition degrades with heat and load rather than with years, so mileage matters more than the service book suggests.

A change is from AED 350, or AED 525 with a filter. Four-wheel-drive models also carry a transfer case with its own oil, from AED 325, which is reliably the first item to drop off a maintenance schedule once a vehicle leaves the dealer network.

None of this is expensive. All of it is cheaper than the alternative.

The rear AC circuit, and why top-ups fail

A specific complaint worth addressing, because it is so often mishandled. On the three-row models, cold in the front and warm in the third row is not a whole-system failure.

These vehicles run a separate rear circuit, usually a second evaporator with its own blower motor. It can fail completely while the front system works faultlessly. Adding refrigerant will not fix a seized rear blower or a blocked rear expansion valve, so the AED 150 top-up achieves nothing and the fault remains.

We ask whether the problem is the whole cabin or just the back, because the answer determines what gets checked. An AC inspection is AED 99.

If the whole cabin is weak, the usual suspects apply: a dust-packed condenser from AED 650, a leak, or a worn compressor from AED 1025.

What the kilometres wear out

On a high-mileage vehicle, tyres come first. Sustained speed on hot asphalt is the hardest life a tyre has, and on something this heavy at 120 km/h in summer a worn or under-inflated tyre is the most dangerous thing you own.

Then shock absorbers, from AED 800 front, which work continuously at speed. Then brakes, which we measure in millimetres rather than estimate. And the battery, which heat kills faster than age does.

The Camaro prices a tier above the rest of the range, so we quote that one individually. And if what you need is routine servicing rather than a repair, that is fixed at AED 525 for a sedan and AED 650 for an SUV.
