Ford Edge repair in Abu Dhabi, diagnosed for AED 99.
Out here that question has real cost attached either way. Some faults on this vehicle make the drive home the expensive part. Others genuinely do not. Here is how to tell. Diagnosis AED 99.

How it works
From roadside to answer in three steps
Call first, we tell you whether to move the vehicle, then we diagnose it properly.
Call or message before moving it
Tell us what the oil looks like, what the gauge is doing and roughly where you are. That conversation decides whether you drive or we recover, and it costs nothing.
We establish how far it has gone
Oil condition, coolant level, pressure test and the weep point. The question is not only what failed but whether it reached the oil.
We repair it, you approve
Cooling, gearbox, driveline, AC: whatever the diagnosis points to is done only with your say-so, and we will tell you if it is past economic repair.
Pricing
Edge repair jobs, priced upfront
The same rates as our Dubai workshops, with no Abu Dhabi premium. The water pump is quoted after inspection because access on the V6 is behind the timing cover.
Cooling system
Where the drive home can cost more than the part.
Gearbox & driveline
Try the fluid before the hard parts.
AC & climate
A safety item on a long summer drive.
Suspension & brakes
What sustained speed consumes.
- Diagnosis is AED 99 and starts with oil condition, which decides everything else
- Same rates as Dubai, with no Abu Dhabi surcharge on any job
- Call us before you move it. That advice is free and it is the valuable part.
Stuck out past Al Shamkha? Message us before you decide to drive back.

What customers say
Great service done by the team here. Special shout out to Muhammad Shaheer, who gave me solid and legit advice on how to go about with my car and the parts that were to be replaced.
Had a good experience with MySyara and their staff overall. Really impressed with Yadhu's attention to detail. They arranged multiple pick and drop at no cost, which was a big relief and convenient.

Book an Edge diagnostic in Abu Dhabi
Call before you move it. Then oil condition read first, coolant checked, and an honest answer on which repair you are facing.
Diagnosis first. Quote before any repair. Recovery arranged if it should not be driven.
Out here, both answers cost something
In a city, “stop driving and call someone” is free advice. You are ten minutes from a workshop and twenty from home.
On the Al Ain road, or out past Al Shamkha, or halfway along the E11, that same sentence has a real price attached โ a recovery, a disrupted day, possibly a night somewhere you did not plan to be.
Which means Abu Dhabi drivers rationalise. They decide the car will probably make it. And on this particular vehicle, with one particular fault, that decision is the single most expensive thing an owner can get wrong.
So rather than tell you to stop in all circumstances, here is how to tell the difference.
Milky oil: recovery, no exceptions
If the oil on the dipstick is milky brown rather than dark and translucent, coolant has reached the engine oil.
Do not drive it. Not carefully, not slowly, not the last 40 km.
The reason is that the damage is progressive and distance-based. Contaminated oil circulating through the engine destroys bearings and scores cylinder walls continuously, so every kilometre makes the final outcome worse. You are not travelling toward a repair, you are travelling away from one.
And the arithmetic is never close:
A recovery costs a few hundred dirhams. The difference between a water pump job and an engine is thousands, on a vehicle that is not worth an engine.
There is no version of that calculation where driving 100 km is the cheaper option. Message us and we will arrange the recovery.
Clean oil but low coolant: you have options
This is the nuance a long-distance driver actually needs, and the city version of this page does not have to address it.
Clean oil means the coolant has not reached it yet. The seal may be leaking, but it has not breached into the oil circuit, and the engine is not currently being damaged by contamination.
That is a repairable position, and you are not stranded.
What to do:
Top the coolant up to the correct level.
Drive gently. Avoid sustained high load, long climbs and hard acceleration.
Stop every 30 to 40 minutes to check the coolant level and, more importantly, the colour of the oil.
If the oil changes colour at any point, stop there and call us.
Then get it looked at promptly rather than eventually. Clean oil today is not clean oil in three weeks.
Rising temperature gauge: stop regardless
Worth separating out, because it is a different failure mode and it acts faster.
A climbing gauge means the cooling system is no longer removing heat. That will damage the engine through overheating whether or not any coolant has reached the oil.
So this one overrides the oil check. Pull over, let it cool, and call rather than attempting the remaining distance.
Out towards Al Shamkha the distances are longer than they feel, and an engine run hot repeatedly is in a bracket of its own on a tier-2 vehicle.
Why the oil colour decides so much
Because it tells us which failure you are in the middle of, and the two have completely different advice attached.
On the V6, the water pump sits behind the front timing cover, driven by the timing chain. Failed seals can route coolant into the oil rather than onto the ground.
Clean oil means leaking but not yet breached. Repairable. Drive gently, come in soon.
Milky oil means breached. From that point, damage accrues with every kilometre. Recover it.
Same component, same underlying fault, two entirely different instructions. That is why the first question we ask on the phone is what the oil looks like, and why that call is free.
Call before you decide
The genuinely valuable thing we offer on this page is not a repair. It is a two-minute conversation before you commit to a decision.
Tell us what the oil looks like, what the gauge is doing, and roughly where you are. We will tell you whether to drive or to stop.
We have no incentive to recommend recovery unnecessarily and every incentive to keep your engine alive, because a customer who loses an engine on our advice does not come back.
The gearbox shudder, which is not urgent
A much less alarming complaint and a common one, included here because owners often lump it in with the serious stuff.
A shudder during gear changes is recognised on this vehicle, and degraded transmission fluid is a common and inexpensive cause. A change is from AED 400, or AED 600 with the filter.
We try that before discussing anything internal, because the reverse order risks paying for a large repair you may not have needed. On a tier-2 vehicle the expensive answer starts to approach what the vehicle is worth, so the order matters.
This is not a reason to stop at the roadside. Book it when convenient.
Air conditioning is a safety item here
On a long Abu Dhabi drive in summer, a dead air conditioner is not a comfort problem.
A cabin at 45ยฐC becomes genuinely unpleasant within minutes and unsafe over a long drive, more so with children or elderly passengers. Driving the Al Ain road with the windows down in August is not a practical alternative.
An inspection is AED 99 and we measure pressures rather than guessing: a condenser from AED 750, a compressor from AED 1150, a top-up at AED 150 only where the system genuinely holds pressure.
Cold air but not much of it is airflow, not refrigerant: a blower motor at AED 450 or a cabin filter choked with dust.
What sustained speed consumes
Not the engine or the cooling system, which are what city traffic punishes.
Tyres, where the age of the rubber matters as much as the tread, and sustained speed on hot asphalt is the hardest life a tyre has.
Brakes, measured in millimetres and reported as numbers, because a heavy crossover stopping from motorway speed does far more work than one in traffic.
Shock absorbers, from AED 725 rear and AED 925 front, working continuously rather than intermittently.
Alignment at AED 200, which produces almost no symptom at constant speed on a straight road while quietly destroying one edge of a tyre.
Driveline fluids, where a transfer case oil change is from AED 375 and a driveline inspection AED 99. These degrade with heat and load rather than distance, and a high-distance vehicle accumulates both faster.
No premium, and no doorstep
Every figure on this page matches our Dubai workshops. There is no Abu Dhabi surcharge on any job.
The doorstep mechanic runs in Dubai only, so cooling, gearbox and driveline work is workshop-based here: Khalifa City, Mussafah, MBZ, Al Raha and out towards Al Shamkha.
If what you need is routine servicing rather than a repair, that is AED 650 minor and AED 1250 major, and worth reading for the pre-trip check before a long drive.
