We will not quote your Porsche repair from a web page

Most brand pages on this site publish fixed repair prices. This one largely does not, and the reason is worth stating rather than hiding.

Porsche sits in tier 4 of our pricing, the most expensive band we have. More to the point, the spread within the range is enormous. A brake job on a Macan and a brake job on a 911 Turbo are not the same piece of work and are nowhere near each other on cost. Average them into a single published figure and the result is too high for one owner and too low for the other.

So we publish what is predictable and quote what is not.

Fixed, on any Porsche: a full fault-code diagnosis at AED 99, an AC inspection at AED 99, a radiator flush at AED 225, spark plugs at AED 425, and the periodic service from AED 1150. All the same as our Dubai workshops, with no Abu Dhabi premium.

Abu Dhabi Porsches are daily cars

That is the difference that matters here. The mix is dominated by the Cayenne, with the Macan second, and these are not weekend vehicles. They cover real distance on the E11, the E10, the Al Ain road and the commute between the island and Mussafah or MBZ.

Two consequences follow. Wear accumulates faster than the calendar implies, so the air suspension on an older Cayenne tends to need attention sooner here than the service book suggests. And the cooling system does more sustained work than it ever would in city traffic.

One symptom, four prices

The most common reason a Cayenne arrives at our Abu Dhabi workshops is that it is sitting low or has thrown a suspension warning.

That symptom has four possible causes. A failed height sensor, the cheapest outcome. A leaking valve block. A split air spring. Or a burnt-out compressor, the dearest.

Four very different bills, which is precisely why we will not print one number for “air suspension repair”. A diagnosis is AED 99 and includes a ride height check on each corner, and then you get a quote for the fault that is actually there.

This is routine work rather than something we refer elsewhere. Sebastien brought us a Cayenne GTS with an air suspension fault and had the compressor and valve block replaced, with updates through the job.

The compressor is nearly always a consequence

This is the single most useful thing to know about owning an air-sprung Porsche.

The compressor is sized to top the system up occasionally. It is not built to hold the car up continuously. So once a leak develops anywhere, at a valve block, an air spring or a line, the compressor begins working far harder than intended and in time fails from the effort.

The expensive failure is therefore usually the last stage of a chain that started with something small and cheap.

The warning signs are specific and easy to spot once you know them: a car that settles overnight, or a compressor that runs noticeably longer at startup than it used to. At that stage this is still a modest repair. Leave it and it will not be.

Cooling: why the motorway is the real test

Counter to intuition, sustained motorway running is harder on a cooling system than stop-start traffic. Traffic is hot but intermittent, with gaps where load drops and the system recovers. An hour at speed on the Al Ain road in July is continuous load, 45°C ambient air, and no recovery at all.

A system that behaves perfectly around Khalifa City can prove marginal out there, a long way from any workshop, and these engines do not forgive being run hot.

A radiator flush is AED 225 regardless of model, one of the few Porsche jobs with a published figure, and on a high-mileage Cayenne doing these distances it is among the most sensible money you can spend before summer.

If the gauge moves, stop and have the car recovered. The last 60 km is never worth an engine of this value.

The AED 99 scan is the best value on the car

These cars log a great deal and they log it early, frequently recording a developing fault well before a driver notices anything, particularly in the air suspension, the cooling system and the electronics.

On a car covering Abu Dhabi mileage, where wear runs ahead of the calendar, that early record is genuinely valuable. If something simply feels different and you cannot say what, a full fault scan at AED 99 is the cheapest way to turn that into a specific answer, and on a car at this price point the gap between early and late is measured in thousands.

The absolute saving is larger on a Porsche than on any other brand we handle, because the baseline is higher. A percentage off a tier-4 bill is worth considerably more than the same percentage off a mainstream car.
