Audi Q5 Repair ยท Dubai

Audi Q5 repair in Dubai, diagnosed for AED 99.

If your Q5 is using oil, measure it, do not keep topping it up. Audi named stop-and-go traffic as a cause and defined a formal oil consumption test, and the documented result is what any case depends on. We start the measurement for AED 99 and tell you honestly what the number means, including when it is within a normal range.

How it works

From a symptom to a measured answer in three steps

Tell us what you have noticed, we measure rather than guess, you approve before anything is replaced.

01

Describe what the car is doing

Needing oil between services? A light, a smell of burning oil, a shudder, weak AC? Has anyone already quoted engine work? Those answers decide what we measure first.

We measure and document

On an oil complaint we start the formal measurement rather than reach for a bottle, because Audi defined a test and the documented result is what matters. Everything else is scanned and inspected.

What customers say

4.4
Across 11,600+ reviews on Google and the MySyara app

Very transparent and friendly garage. I am bringing both my Audi Q5 and Porsche Cayenne here, and they always take good care, with reasonable prices. Mr. Muhammed is always available on WhatsApp to reply to my queries. I am happy with the services.

This is the only garage I ever visit for whatever problem. Mechanics are intelligent and honest, which is something you will not find in most places. Their prices are very reasonable for the work being done.

Had a great experience with MySyara. Special thanks to Mr. Shaheer for his excellent customer service, communication and support throughout the repair. There are many garages, but proper diagnosis and deep knowledge of European cars are not easy to find.

A diagnosis that inspects the relevant system, scans codes and starts the measurement is AED 99, and an AC inspection is also AED 99. The oil consumption test process and any internal engine work are by quote, because they are not catalogue lines. On AC, a gas top-up is AED 150, a condenser from AED 1250, a compressor from AED 1875 and a blower motor AED 750, with the evaporator by quote. On cooling, a radiator is AED 1850 and a radiator flush AED 225, with a thermostat by quote. A gearbox or ATF fluid change is AED 625, or AED 950 with a filter, and a transfer case oil change is AED 550. On suspension, sway bar end links are AED 400, rear shocks from AED 1350, front shocks from AED 1675 and a front lower control arm AED 1700. An oil change only is from AED 400.
Not necessarily, and Audi is the one who says so. For the 2.0 TFSI engine Audi's circular states that 'internal engine pressure conditions can negatively influence the rate of oil consumption,' in 'metro driving conditions; for example: stop-and-go traffic with extended idle periods,' and it says the same of the 3.0 TFSI in 'city driving conditions.' That is a plain description of a Dubai commute, so some consumption is an expected characteristic of this engine here. It does not mean every case is normal and it does not mean every case is a fault. The only way to know which you have is to measure the rate, which is where the AED 99 diagnosis begins.
It is a formal procedure Audi defined to establish how fast the engine is actually using oil, carried out over a controlled interval rather than in a single visit. We will not print a flat figure for it, because it is a process and not a catalogue line, so it is by quote and it begins with the AED 99 diagnosis. The reason it matters is that Audi's own bulletin refers to 'the oil consumption test that led to said repair,' which tells you the test result is what any further step depends on. Measure first, then decide.
Topping up keeps the car running, but as the whole plan it is the one move that costs you most, because every quiet top-up leaves the rate unmeasured and the record blank. If you never measure how fast the oil is going, you have no baseline and no documented result to take anywhere. Use the correct oil to Audi's specification by all means, but get the rate measured once rather than guessed at forever. An oil change only is from AED 400, and on this engine oil is a real running cost rather than a footnote.
Audi has operated a warranty extension for oil consumption, and its bulletin states that if an oil consumption repair is performed under it, 'the cost of the oil consumption test that led to said repair shall likewise be covered at the same percentage (75%),' while 'conditions unrelated to engine oil consumption are not covered.' We are careful here: it was a dated US programme, eligibility was set by model, model year and VIN, and it contributed a percentage, not the full cost. We cannot promise coverage, cannot state a figure you would receive, and we are not an Audi dealer and do not administer it. Whether it reaches your car is Audi's to confirm by VIN and market. Our job is to measure and document so you have a real record to present.
Then that is the honest answer and we tell you plainly: the rate is within a normal range, no internal engine work is needed, and you have spent a diagnosis to buy certainty instead of worrying. You also leave with a documented baseline to judge future years against. We would far rather tell you the number is fine than invent a reason to open the engine, and because there is no catalogue price for internal work, nothing of that kind happens without a quote you have agreed to first.
No. Doorstep visits in Dubai cover batteries and diagnostic scans, but measuring consumption over a controlled interval and any engine work are workshop jobs, done at Al Quoz, Umm Ramool or Wadi Al Amardi. We can collect the car from most of Dubai and bring it back if you would rather not drive in. Doorstep visits are Dubai only.

Book a Q5 diagnostic in Dubai

If your Q5 is using oil, we measure it and document the result rather than topping it up, because Audi defined a test and named the traffic you drive in as a cause. Diagnosis AED 99, the test process and any engine work by quote, and a straight account of what the number means.

Diagnosis first. Quote before any repair. No part replaced on a guess.

If your Q5 is using oil, measure it. Do not keep topping it up.

The common instinct when a Q5 starts using oil is to keep a bottle in the boot and pour some in when the light asks. It keeps the car running, and it feels like managing the problem. On this engine it is the one move that costs you most, because every quiet top-up erases the evidence. If you never measure how fast the oil is going, you have no baseline, no documented rate, and no case to take anywhere. The oil goes in, the record stays blank.

This page leads on the opposite move. If your Q5 is using oil, get the consumption measured and written down. Audi defined a formal test for exactly this, and the documented result of that test is the thing everything else depends on. We start that process with a diagnosis at AED 99, and we will tell you honestly what the number means, including when the honest answer is that consumption sits within a normal range.

Audi named the traffic as a cause

This is not a fault we are inventing to sell you work. It is Audi’s own description.

An Audi circular for the 2.0 TFSI engine states that “under certain driving conditions, internal engine pressure conditions in the 2.0 TFSI engine can negatively influence the rate of oil consumption,” and that “this condition can occur while the vehicle is operated in metro driving conditions; for example: stop-and-go traffic with extended idle periods.” A parallel circular says the same of the 3.0 TFSI in “city driving conditions, for example: stop and go traffic with extended idle periods.”

Stop-and-go traffic with extended idle periods is a plain description of a Dubai commute. The manufacturer has tied that exact pattern to the rate at which the engine uses oil. So when your Q5 uses some oil, it is doing a thing its maker documented as a response to the driving you do here every day. That does not mean every case is normal, and it does not mean every case is a fault. It means the only honest way to know which one you have is to measure it.

Audi defined a test, and the result is what matters

The reason measuring beats topping up is that Audi built a formal procedure around the measurement. There is a defined oil consumption test that establishes the rate, and the documented result of that test is what opens the door to any manufacturer contribution. Audi’s own warranty bulletin refers to “the oil consumption test that led to said repair,” which tells you plainly that in Audi’s process the test comes first and the outcome follows from it.

So the sequence is: measure, document, then decide. A documented rate tells you whether the engine is within a normal range or genuinely consuming more than it should. If it is within range, you have spent a diagnosis and bought certainty, and you stop. If it is high, you have the one thing a case needs, a measured result on record, and you can decide what to do with it from a position of evidence rather than argument. Quietly topping up for another year gives you none of that.

We need to be straight about price here, because this page leads on the test. The AED 99 diagnosis is the fixed, honest anchor and it is where measuring starts. The oil consumption test process itself is by quote, because it is a procedure carried out over a controlled interval rather than a single catalogue line, and it would be dishonest to print a flat figure for it. Any internal engine work a result might point to is also by quote, for the same reason: what is involved depends entirely on what the measurement shows. We will not invent a number for either. What you get for the AED 99 is the start of a real measurement and a straight account of what it tells us.

The warranty programme, kept in its place

Because the test connects to it, the warranty programme is worth naming, carefully, and after the test rather than before it.

Audi has operated a warranty extension for oil consumption. Its bulletin states that “if an oil consumption repair is performed under the Warranty Extension, then the cost of the oil consumption test that led to said repair shall likewise be covered at the same percentage (75%) as provided under the warranty extension,” and that “conditions unrelated to engine oil consumption are not covered under this extension.”

Here is what we will and will not say about that. The programme existed, it was a dated US scheme, and eligibility was set by model, model year and VIN, with a contribution of a percentage rather than payment in full. We cannot promise you any coverage, we cannot tell you a figure you would receive, and we are not an Audi dealer and do not administer the scheme. Whether it reaches your car, in your market, is Audi’s to confirm against your VIN. Our job is narrower and genuinely useful: measure the consumption properly and document the result, so that if there is a case to make to Audi, you make it with a record in hand. The extension is the reason the documentation matters. It is not a promise we are in any position to make.

Oil is a running cost on this engine, so treat it like one

None of this means you cannot put oil in the car. It means do not let topping up be the whole plan. An oil change only is from AED 400, and on an engine that genuinely uses some between services, oil is a real running cost rather than a footnote. Keeping the right oil to the right Audi specification in it is sensible. Doing that instead of ever measuring the rate is not, because it is the version where the evidence never gets written down. Use the correct oil, and get the rate measured once rather than guessed at forever.

Where the routine side of that lives, recording a baseline at each service, is the Q5 service page.

The rest of what brings a Q5 in

Oil is the headline on this car, but it is not the only reason a Q5 visits a workshop, and the same measure-first discipline applies to the rest.

On air conditioning, the AED 99 AC inspection checks pressures and looks for a leak before anything is refilled, because an A/C gas top-up at AED 150 added to a leaking system is spent twice. Where a part has failed, an AC condenser is from AED 1250, a compressor from AED 1875 and a blower motor AED 750. The AC evaporator is by quote, because there is no catalogue rate for it at this tier and we would rather say so than invent one.

On cooling, a turbocharged engine in slow traffic still has to shed its heat in hard conditions. A radiator flush and refill is AED 225 and a radiator is AED 1850 where the inspection shows it is the cause. A thermostat is by quote, because there is no catalogue row for it at this tier.

On the drivetrain, a gearbox or ATF fluid change is AED 625, or AED 950 with a filter, and a quattro transfer case oil change is AED 550. On suspension, sway bar end links are AED 400, rear shocks from AED 1350, front shocks from AED 1675 and a front lower control arm AED 1700. Every one of these is confirmed by inspection before it is quoted, and nothing is ordered without your approval.

Why the AED 99 diagnosis is the right first spend

A Q5 logs fault codes before you feel the symptom, and on an oil question the diagnosis is where the measuring begins. For AED 99 we inspect the relevant system, read any stored codes and start the measurement rather than reach for a part or a bottle. Only once there is a number do we talk about what comes next, and anything larger is quoted for your approval first.

Engine work is workshop-only, and in Dubai doorstep visits cover batteries and diagnostic scans rather than anything that needs the car lifted or measured over an interval. We can collect from most of the city. If what your Q5 needs turns out to be routine servicing with the oil level recorded each time, that is AED 800 minor and AED 1500 major, fixed before you book.
