Wonderful work. I received the car as new as the agency. My car is a Mazda 3 2015, and even the sound of the car became silent. Very kind team, and special thanks to Mr Saif.
Mazda CX-5 repair in Dubai, diagnosed for AED 99.
Odd rear brake wear or rear brake noise on this car is a parking brake question before it is a pad question. Mazda's own bulletins describe the electric parking brake failing to release and dragging. Replace the pads without checking the release and you buy pads again. Diagnosis AED 99.

How it works
From symptom to answer in three steps
Tell us what it is doing, we check the release before the pads, you approve before anything is ordered.
Describe the noise and the wear
Is it the rear that is noisy, does the outer pad look worn, and does the car roll a touch when you pull away with the parking brake set? Those answers point us straight at the parking brake.
We check the release, then measure
Wheels off, we confirm the electric parking brake releases fully and is not dragging, then measure the pads and discs. The aim is to name the cause, not sell the biggest job.
We quote, then you approve
Whether it is pads, a caliper or a parking brake release fault, you see the price and agree before a single part is touched. The AED 99 diagnosis is fixed either way.
Pricing
CX-5 repair jobs, priced upfront
The CX-5 prices as a tier 1 SUV, the lowest repair tier we charge. The diagnosis is AED 99 and fixed. Brake work is quoted after the check, because whether it is pads, a caliper or the parking brake release changes the figure completely.
Brakes & parking brake
Measured first. The release checked before the pads.
Engine
Leaks pressure-tested, not assumed.
Cooling system
Plastic plus 45C is the familiar weak point.
Air conditioning
Summer finds the weak condenser.
Suspension
A tied-down SUV shows wear sooner than a soft one.
- Diagnosis is AED 99 and fixed, so you are not paying to replace parts that were never the cause
- The parking brake release is checked before any rear pad is quoted
- Anything bigger is quoted after the check and only goes ahead with your approval
Quoted for rear pads? Ask whether the parking brake release was checked first.

CX-5 repair across Dubai
Workshops in Al Quoz, Umm Ramool and Wadi Al Amardi, with collection from most of Dubai. In Dubai a fault-code scan can also come to you.
Doorstep visits (battery, fault-code scan) are Dubai-only. Brake work is workshop-only, because the parking brake release and the rear pads are checked with the wheels off.

Odd rear brake wear is a parking brake question first
If the rear brakes on your CX-5 are wearing unevenly or making noise, the instinct, and the instinct of most workshops, is to reach for pads. On this car that is the wrong place to start.
Mazda’s own technical bulletins, filed with the US safety regulator across several years, describe vehicles with the electric parking brake that may exhibit rear brake dragging, resulting in brake noise and abnormal outer brake pad wear. The same bulletins note that the vehicle may also roll momentarily when starting from a standstill with the parking brake applied, and attribute the concern to the parking brake not releasing completely. A related bulletin puts it more precisely still: the automatic release of the parking brake caliper is timed too late for the movement of the car.
Read that back and the useful part jumps out. Uneven rear pad wear on this car is not automatically cheap pads or a bad driver. It is a documented behaviour of the parking brake, with tells you can check yourself. The wear tends to show on the outer pad specifically rather than evenly across both, and the car may roll a touch when you pull away with the parking brake set, because the brake is letting go a beat too late.
So the first thing we do with a noisy or oddly worn rear brake on a CX-5 is not measure pads. It is confirm whether the parking brake is releasing fully, or dragging.
Replace the pads alone and you buy pads twice
If the parking brake is dragging and a workshop fits new pads without addressing it, the new pads wear the same way, the noise comes back, and you pay for pads a second time with the cause still untouched. A brake that will not release fully also keeps heat in the rear corner, which is hard on the disc, so catching it early is the difference between a release adjustment and a larger rear-brake job.
So our AED 99 diagnosis checks the release before anything is quoted. The most useful question you can ask any workshop that quotes you rear pads: did you check that the parking brake releases? If the answer is vague, the quote came from the symptom.
This is not the Range Rover’s parking brake
It is worth drawing a clear line, because parking brake faults get lumped together and they are not the same.
On a Range Rover Sport, the fault runs the opposite way. There the parking brake tends to bind at the rear and can destroy an expensive control module, throwing codes such as C1A43, and the bill is driven by a seized mechanism taking costly electronics with it.
The CX-5 fails the other way. Its parking brake does not release fully and quietly eats the rear pads: uneven pad wear and noise, not a self-destructing module. Different failure, different consequence, different bill. We mention it only so you do not read a Range Rover horror story and assume your CX-5 faces the same money. It does not.
The diagnosis is fixed. The brake work is quoted
The diagnosis is AED 99 and fixed, and that buys the lift, the release check and the pad and disc measurement. What it tells us is which of three things you have: pads at the end of their life, a caliper or parking brake actuator at fault, or a release that needs attention. Those are not the same job or the same price, so the brake work is quoted once we know which it is. A fixed brake-pad price here would mean quoting pads before anyone had checked whether pads were even the problem, which is the trap this page exists to keep you out of.
The 2016 cars, and premature brake wear
One more thing on brakes, specific to the earlier cars. Premature brake wear was a commonly reported owner complaint on the 2016 CX-5 in particular. That does not mean every 2016 car has a fault, and it does not change how we work, which is to measure and show you the numbers regardless of year. But if you own one, it means brakes wearing sooner than expected is a reported pattern rather than something unique to your car. Tell us the year when you book.
Cylinder head oil leaks: we test, we do not assume
If your CX-5 is leaking oil on the exhaust side of the engine, there is a cause worth knowing about and a great deal of caution worth applying.
There are owner complaints about Skyactiv-G cylinder heads cracking and leaking oil near the exhaust manifold, and at least one logged safety complaint describes exactly that. So the phenomenon is reported. What is not established is how common it is, so we will not tell you it is a known defect or quote you any bulletin, because the evidence does not support that.
Instead we do the right thing with any leak: pressure-test and inspect to find where the oil is genuinely coming from. An exhaust-side leak has several possible sources, and the cylinder head is the most expensive of them, which is exactly why you do not want anyone assuming it. If the inspection points at the head, we show you the evidence before quoting.
One clarification, because the two get blurred. This is an oil leak. The coolant-loss story on the Mazda SUV range, with its confirmed Mazda bulletin, belongs to the CX-9 and sits on that page.
The daytime running lights, a small honest aside
Among the more commonly reported CX-5 niggles across model years is a daytime running light that simply stops working. It is cheap and rarely a symptom of anything larger, which is the main reason to mention it, because people see a dark light and fear the worst. If yours has gone out, flag it when you book and we will sort it while the car is in. Not everything on this car is a parking brake investigation. Some of it is just a bulb and a connector.
The rest, briefly
After brakes, air conditioning is the repair a Dubai CX-5 is most likely to need. An AC inspection is AED 99, because weak cooling has two causes that feel identical from the seat: refrigerant escaping through a leak, or a condenser whose fins are packed with dust. We measure pressures and find the leak before refilling, because a top-up into a leaking system is money spent twice. A condenser is from AED 575, a compressor from AED 850 and a blower motor AED 300. The evaporator sits deep in the dashboard and is quoted rather than listed. An AC gas top-up is AED 150 where the system holds pressure.
Cooling systems of this era use a good deal of plastic, which heat makes brittle rather than slowly weepy, so there is often less warning than a metal part gives. A radiator flush and refill is AED 225, a thermostat AED 325 and a radiator AED 825. A rising temperature gauge is worth stopping for.
The CX-5 is tied down more firmly than most family SUVs, so worn suspension announces itself clearly. The cheapest answer to a knock is usually sway bar end links at AED 175, which is what we check first. Beyond that, rear shocks are from AED 575, front shocks from AED 700 and a front lower control arm is AED 800. We work cheapest-first, because the difference between an end link and a control arm is the difference between AED 175 and AED 800.
Is a high-mileage CX-5 worth keeping
Usually yes, and we will say so plainly when it is not. Most of what goes wrong on this car, brakes, AC, suspension and cooling, is repairable at known tier 1 prices, the lowest band we charge, so the failures are ordinary and the parts are not exotic.
Two things change the arithmetic: a rear brake that has been dragging for a long time, which can take the discs with it, and an unexplained oil leak on the exhaust side. Both we measure and show you rather than guess at.
If what you need is routine servicing rather than a repair, that is AED 425 minor and AED 900 major, with the brakes measured and the parking brake release checked as part of the visit.
